About
Michael Widderich
Counsellor · Founder, SWS Counselling
Michael founded SWS Counselling with a simple intention: to offer the South West Sydney community a warm, considered space to work through the things that weigh on us. He believes that meaningful therapy begins in a place where you feel truly heard — not rushed, not judged, not fixed from the outside in.
Michael works with adults navigating anxiety, low mood, grief and loss, workplace stress and burnout, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and the harder chapters of being human. His approach is warm and collaborative, drawing on evidence-informed frameworks including person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy, and trauma-informed practice.
Sessions are available in person across South West Sydney and via secure telehealth Australia-wide. Michael is committed to ongoing professional development and works under regular clinical supervision, in line with the ethical standards of the peak Australian counselling bodies (PACFA / ACA).
